1. What is Nivium?
Nivium is a phone app that helps you record snow observations and turn them into clean plotted snow profiles.
2. Is Nivium avalanche forecasting or safety advice?
No. Nivium is a documentation tool. It helps you record and organize observations, but it does not give avalanche advice.
3. How does Nivium work?
You can start with Voice Notes or Manual Data Entry, review the profile, then generate, save, share, or print the final result.
4. What’s the difference between Voice Notes and Manual Data Entry?
Voice Notes lets you speak your observations. Manual Data Entry lets you enter them by hand, step by step.
5. Do I need to edit raw profile code or syntax?
No. Nivium is built so you can work through a clear review screen instead of editing raw profile text.
6. Can I use Nivium without service in the field?
Yes. Manual Data Entry works offline, and voice recordings can be saved and processed later when you have service again.
7. What happens if Voice Notes processing does not work right away?
Your recording is still saved. You can come back and finish the draft later when connection is available.
8. How accurate is the AI formatting?
Nivium does its best to turn your notes into a clean profile draft. If something is unclear, it tries to flag it instead of guessing.
9. Can I review and fix things before creating the final profile?
Yes. You can check the important details before generating the final plotted profile.
10. Can I edit a profile after it has been created?
Yes. You can reopen a saved profile, make changes, and generate it again.
11. What can I do with finished profiles?
You can save them, share them, and print them later.
12. Do I need an account to use Nivium?
You can use the free parts of Nivium without an account. A Nivium account is required for paid access.
13. How does sign-in work?
Nivium uses magic-link sign-in. You enter your email, open the link sent to you, and you’re signed in.
14. How do subscriptions and restore purchases work?
Paid access is handled through the app store. If you already purchased, you can restore your access from inside the app.
15. Can I sign up for updates without paying?
Yes. You can leave your email to get occasional Nivium updates even if you are not a paid user.
16. What phones does Nivium work on?
Nivium is built for iPhone and Android.
17. Can I try Nivium before paying?
Yes. Nivium includes free features and sample profiles so you can get a feel for how it works. Paid access also includes a free first month.
